PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh doctor is in critical condition after being struck by a motorist while out on a Memorial Day bike ride with two other people.

Dr. Robert Noll and a second doctor at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh were injured Monday morning not far from the Pittsburgh Zoo.

Police say a gold sedan clipped Noll while passing the group of three riders, causing a chain-reaction crash. The motorist kept driving.

Noll is hospitalized in critical but stable condition with broken bones and internal injuries.

ERIE — Officials said a powerboat exploded after refueling at the Erie Yacht Club, killing one person and injuring six others.Mike Lynch, the general manager of the Erie Yacht Club, said the 32-foot vessel had just been refueled at about 6:30 p.m. Monday and was being started when it exploded.Lynch told the Erie Times-News that five people were on the boat at the time of the explosion, including the woman who was killed.Four of those injured were passengers on the boat and the two others who were injured were employees of the private 1,200-member yacht club.Lynch said three of the injured were transported to a Pittsburgh hospital to be treated for burns.Neither the woman who was killed nor the injured were identified.An investigation is ongoing.

PHILADELPHIA — Police said a woman cyclist is facing a drunken-driving charge after striking a police cruiser with its lights and sirens on.City police said the woman was later treated for minor injuries.Authorities said the officer was responding to a downtown emergency when the crash occurred at about 2 a.m. Sunday.The woman's name and age were not immediately released.
