PITTSBURGH — A man will spend up to 11Z\x years in prison for entering a Pittsburgh high school with a gun and injuring a security guard when both men crashed through a glass door.

Twenty-three-year-old Aaron Darrand Mohamed was sentenced Wednesday. He had pleaded guilty in February to aggravated assault, criminal trespass, firearms and other charges for entering the Pittsburgh Creative & Performing Arts school with an unloaded handgun. Mohamed told a security guard he was there to pick up a relative for an early dismissal.

Police say a student spotted Mohamed and his gun in a restroom and alerted security, prompting the guard to scuffle with Mohamed for control of his .38-caliber handgun.

When Mohamed ran away, the guard gave chase and the men broke through a glass door where a passerby helped subdue Mohamed.
