PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Public Schools officials say a second-grader faces discipline for pointing an unloaded pellet gun at a classmate.

Schools spokeswoman Ebony Pugh says the incident happened Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Fulton Pre-K to 5 school in the city’s Highland Park neighborhood.

The child is too young to prosecute criminally.

School officials aren’t releasing the student’s name.

Pugh said that school police used a dog to search the school to ensure there were no other weapons. The gun used was found after the student’s book bag and locker were searched.
