Simply 'Marvelous'
Four years ago when Butler native Marlana Dunn was starring in “Love Always, Patsy Cline” for the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret, she said, “There's always the next job. Nothing lasts forever.”
True, her six-month run in the title role of “Patsy Cline” didn't last forever, but the former Miss Butler County is back in town playing one of the four songstresses in “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” again for the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret.
Dunn plays the role of Cindy Lou in “Wonderettes.” Also starring in the show are Stephanie Maloney, Tara Geisler and Courtney Bassett.
She recently traveled the world as the lead female singer/dancer with Stiletto Entertainment on board the Holland America Line. Other credits include “Reefer Madness,” “The Rover,” “Anything Goes,” “Hair” and “The Visit.”
She received a bachelor of fine arts in musical theater with a minor in dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
When Dunn was still performing in Butler, she was involved with the Butler Summer Dramatics program. She played the role of Dorothy in the “Wizard of Oz” in 2003 and served as musical director of the Summer Dramatics production of “Peter Pan” in 2004.“The Marvelous Wonderettes” is now playing and scheduled to run through Oct. 2 at the CLO Cabaret Theatre, 655 Penn Ave.Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays plus some Tuesdays and at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.Seats range from $34.75 to $44.75.
