LOVE’S EYES OF BLUE
By Berdie SlaterA mother’s love is tried and trueMy mother’s love has eyes of blueA twinkle and a sparkling gleam...Expressing “Love” like friendship’s beam. Her eyes were old but saw just fine.I like to think they looked like mine. But hers saw things I’ll never know,That love of hers was meant to grow. When she shed a tear for you,Blue eyes of love knew what you’d been through. She closed her eyes in prayer and praise.Love’s eyes of blue God’s triumph raise. To those in need, she’d lend a hand.Love’s eyes of blue, they understand.A glimpse of Jesus those eyes once had. Her’s now see joy while mine are sad.Even in life’s closing hours,Her eyes spoke love like fresh-cut flowers.God’s GRACE and glory must be her view.Eternal life knows Love’s eyes of blue.We said good-bye, but we all knew...We’d see again her eyes of blue.Dad and Shawn, now Mother too...Know God’s GREAT love in Heaven’s hue. Here, on earth, we long to be with HIM in Heaven, Eternally!A year has passed as longings grew.We miss you Mom...and Love’s eyes of Blue!Without your Love, we all now are blue.
