Steve Hawk of Worth Township said his mother instilled a work ethic in him.“Hard work was the main thing with my mother,” Hawk said. “Work hard and keep a positive attitude.”His mother was widowed at age 36, and was left with five children and two jobs.Still, she remained positive.“Always happy as can be, that always amazed me,” Hawk said.He has kept this in mind his whole life, working two jobs, both as a music professor at Slippery Rock University and a performer, while staying close with his two sons.
