Mary Carr

Mary Carr, 90 of New Castle passed away Thursday afternoon at the Edison Manor in New Castle.

Mary was born on Jan. 22, 1921, in Hillsville, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances A. (Parsh, Kovach) Berkich.

She had attended the Bessemer School and was a member of St. Anthony Church.

She married her husband, Michael Carr, on Oct. 14, 1939. She had been a server at the Hudson PO Lunch in New Castle and at Nancy's Lunch in Bessemer.

Mary leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Marian McMillin and her husband, James, of New Bedford; a son, Michael Carr Jr. and his wife, Charlene, of Devils Lake, Nev.; three grandchildren, John Yellich and his wife, Roberta, of Broadview Heights, Ohio, Michael Carr of Devils Lake, and Melisa Carr of Idaho; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant brother, and her sister, Jennie Yellich.

<B>CARR — </B>The family of Mary Carr, who died Thursday, March 31, 2011, will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the <B>TERRY A. CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME,</B> 203 Oak St., Bessemer. A blessing service will follow on Monday at the funeral home.The family request donations be made to a local Alzheimers foundation in Mary Carr's name.
