Lewis Pennington

Lewis F. “Lew” Pennington, 74, of Bruin passed away Tuesday morning at the Chicora Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Eldorado, Parker Township, Sept. 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Frederick M. and Mildred Rea Pennington.

Lew retired from the former Pullman Standard of Butler after more than 27 years. He later was employed by the VFW of Parker and the Moose Lodge at Chicora.

He was a social member of the VFW at Parker, and he was a member and former officer of the Moose at Chicora.

He was a Protestant.

Surviving are his wife, Arlene Stewart Pennington; three sons, DeWayne Pennington of Bruin, Ralph (Sherrie) Pennington of Renfrew and Larry (Margie) Pennington of Bruin; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Loretta (Richard) Rea of Middletown, Pa., Sonja (Russell) Cratty of Petrolia and Randa (Walter) Anthony of Eldorado; three brothers, Clarence (Betty) Pennington of Tennessee, Orrie Pennington of Petrolia and Otis (Doreen) Pennington of Eldorado; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Gehrs.

<B>PENNINGTON </B>— Friends of Lewis F. “Lew” Pennington, who died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
