If you earn minimum wage and can only buy a ten year old car you pay tax accordingly. If you earn a substantial amount of money and buy a Lexus or BW, you pay tax accordingly. If you are a multi millionaire and buy your own private plane and yacht you pay tax at same rate. If you are in this country illegally and get paid under the table, never file a tax return but purchase anything at all you will be taxed accordingly. If you make your money in the drug market anything you purchase will be taxed. Anyone vacationing in this country from another will pay tax on any purchases. I repeat, everyone pays, there are no loopholes. I suppose it might put a lot of accountants out of work though.
