CRANBERRY TWP — Traco needs to hire almost 300 employees.

The jobs range from window assembly, support services, line leadership, administrative and maintenance positions.

To help fill those jobs, Traco will have a career fair from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the company’s offices at 71 Progress Ave.

The longtime window manufacturer was bought last year by Pittsburgh-based aluminum giant Alcoa.

Jeffrey Jost, Traco’s general manager, and Nick Randall, plant manager, said Thursday that Alcoa has made an investment in the Cranberry company, and now is looking to grow the 61-year-old firm.

“Traco is a perfect fit in Alcoa’s portfolio of companies,” Jost said. “And with Alcoa behind Traco, that means very significant stability and that we’re going to be here for a while.”

Traco has 643 employees, Randall said, and it plans to hire 288 employees by June 30, with 150 of those hires being permanent positions and the other 130 being seasonal positions.
