Fire destroys mobile home
WASHINGTON TWP — A fire today burned a mobile home with two additions to the ground. Authorities estimated damage at $70,000.
The property on Hilliard Road about one mile west of Route 38 is insured.
There was so much damage that a definitive cause will likely never be known, said Trooper Brian Crouch, a deputy fire marshal investigating the fire.
“We can't pinpoint it,” he said, “but it's not suspicious.”
The mobile home is owned by Rob and Billie Dudash.
The fire started about 8 a.m.
Assisting the North Washington VFD were firefighters from West Sunbury, Marion Township, Bruin, Petrolia and Oneida Valley in Butler County and Clintonville in Venango County.
A volunteer with the Butler County chapter of the American Red Cross arrived to offer emergency aid to the homeowners.
Family members said the couple would be staying with them.
