Elizabeth Kennedy
Elizabeth “Liz” (Szakelyhidi) Kennedy died peacefully Sunday in the care of Paramount Hospice.
Born June 18, 1933, she was the daughter of William and Suzanne (Bihary) Szakelyhidi.
She married her husband, William Kennedy, on June 23, 1953.
Mrs. Kennedy was a homemaker and worked for many years in the family insurance business.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking baking and spending time with her family.
She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women's Fellowship. In her earlier years, she was a member of a bowling league and a neighborhood card club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Beth (Vince) Shoaf and Melissa (Eric) Painter, both of Harmony, and Bill (Tami) Kennedy of Zelienople; her grandchildren, Christopher DiNunzio, Brian Shoaf, Emily Painter and Zachary and Benjamin Kennedy; two brothers, Frank and Andy Szakelyhidi; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Braham; three brothers, William, Bert and Joseph Szakelyhidi; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth DiNunzio.
<B>KENNEDY </B>— Friends of Elizabeth “Liz” (Szakelyhidi) Kennedy, who died Sunday, March 6, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 314-320 E.
