CLAIRTON — A second suspect has been arrested in the shooting of a Pittsburgh-area police officer.

Police say Marcus Andrejco-Jones is being held on charges including assault of a police officer, attempted homicide and robbery.

Police say he was arrested without incident at his Rankin apartment and was being held in the Allegheny County jail pending arraignment. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had an attorney.

Word of the arrest came late Friday, hours after a judge denied bond for the first suspect, 21-year-old Myles Hutchinson of McKeesport.

Thirty-nine-year-old Clairton Officer James Kuzak was responding to an armed home invasion in the crime-ridden Pittsburgh suburb when he was shot Monday night. He was critically wounded.

Hutchinson’s attorney, Fred Rabner, says police have the wrong man. He says his client has cooperated with authorities and submitted a detailed timeline of his whereabouts.
