Mary T. Rice, 96, of Butler died early Friday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 17, 1914, in Sarver, she was a daughter of the late Willis and Anna (Easley) Gallagher.

She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.

Surviving are her son, William L. Rice of Butler and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Rice, who died June 4, 1971. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family as she was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
