Amelia M. Doctor

Amelia M. Doctor, 90, of Lyndora died Thursday afternoon at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 17, 1920, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Dulya) Pollock.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Isaly's Ice Cream and Deli on Main Street in Butler; and during World War II, she had worked at the Armco Steel Plant.

She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She also was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora until it closed, where she also was in the ladies auxiliary.

Surviving are her two sons, John J. Doctor of Butler and James P. Doctor of Lyndora; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Mary Ann) Criley of Chicora; a sister, Margaret Clark of Lyndora; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Doctor, who died Oct. 15, 1981, and by two brothers and two sisters.

<B>Doctor</B> — Friends of Amelia M. Doctor, who died Thursday, March 3, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.The St. Paul Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday at the church to recite the rosary.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Church.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.\
