SOMERSET — Three teenage girls from Western Pennsylvania have been charged with aggravated assault and other crimes for a fight that was recorded and posted on Facebook, and left a 14-year-old victim with a concussion.

Somerset police Chief Randy Cox held a news conference Monday to announce the charges against the girls, two who are 15 and one who is 13, stemming from the fight on March 2. Their names are not being released because they are charged in juvenile court.

Cox says the victim’s mother said a teen witness had recorded the fight on a cell phone and posted it on Facebook. He said “this is the first case we’ve had where the perpetrators have actually videoed their actions. They’ve made it very easy for us.”

Police say the other girls blamed the victim before the video surfaced.
