PITTSBURGH — Police say a University of Pittsburgh law school building had to be evacuated after a woman crashed her sport utility vehicle through one of its walls.

University police say the SUV jumped a curb, careened down a stairway then smashed an 8-foot hole in the side of the building late Thursday.

The building was briefly evacuated over concerns the crash had left it structurally unstable. The building was declared safe around 11 p.m. and reopens today.
