Roy E. Jones, 77, of Cheswick died Wednesday in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights.

He was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Worthington to the late Arthur and Jessie Hellam Jones and was a lifelong resident of the Valley.

Roy served in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Korean War, and he was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Springdale.

Roy devoted his life to his beloved family and his pets.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Karen Earley Jones; daughters, Patti L. (Jay) Pflugh of Saxonburg, Cindy S. Kunz of Springdale and Sandra E. Jones of New Kensington; sisters, Helen Hershberger of Kittanning and Margaret “Peg” (Bob) Lasher of Kittanning; grandchildren, Bradley, Joshua, Nicole, Meghan, Corey, Logan and Royce; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter, and a granddaughter, Jennifer.

<B>JONES </B>— The family of Roy E. Jones, who died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, will welcome friends and relatives today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the <B>Charles B. Jarvie Cheswick Funeral Home</B>, 1607 Pittsburgh St., St., Cheswick, where services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Pittsburgh St., Springdale, PA 15144
