Anne Hollack
Anne Hollack, 91, formerly of Woodrow Street, Lyndora, died Saturday afternoon at the Chicora Medical Center.
She was born in Butler, Aug. 23, 1919, a daughter of the late Peter and Stella Levitsky Gryback.
Anne was a homemaker and had been an auditor in Butler Township for several years. At one time, she also was an instructor for the Civil Defense program, a volunteer for the March of Dimes, and a Girl Scout leader in Lyndora. She also had been quite active in the Lyndora PTA when her children were students.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lyndora, where she was a member of the choir and the Ladies Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Hollack, who died July 8, 1971, along with two sons, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet M. Hollack of Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara Silhanek and her husband, Leonard Silhanek Jr., of Lyndora; two grandsons, Eric J. Merkner of Wellington, Colo., and Douglas W. Merkner and his wife, Holly, of Butler; a great-grandson, Justin E. Sapar; and a number of nieces and nephews.
<B>HOLLACK</B> — Friends of Anne Hollack, who died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, 610 Hansen Ave., Lyndora. Her pastor, the Rev. Douglas Lorence, will officiate.
