Peter W. Bernhard
Peter W. Bernhard, 76, of Harmony passed away peacefully Friday with his loved ones at his side.
Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Peekskill, N.Y., he was the son of Peter and Anna (Wolfarth) Bernhard.
Mr. Bernhard was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church, Zelienople.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and he retired as manager of Pittsburgh Air Traffic Control after 38 years of FAA service.
Mr. Bernhard was a longtime member of the Zelienople Lions Club, a volunteer at Historic Harmony and an avid Steeler fan.
He is survived by his three children, Keith Bernhard (Lisa) of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Pam Pappas (Michael) of Peachtree City, Ga., and Lori Smith (Jim) of Ellwood City; his loving companion, Marcy Luek of Gibsonia; a sister, Carole Gorman (Dan) of Tulsa, Okla.; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Katelynn, Lexie, Cory and Shane.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy (Daugherty) Bernhard, who died Dec. 6, 2001; and two brothers, Chet and George Bernhard.
<B>BERNHARD </B>— Friends of Peter W. Bernhard, who died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, will be received from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 314-320 E.
