Rock's Warning 3-time meet placer

Slippery Rock University’s Chris Warning had three top-8 performances at the Coastal Carolina Track and Field Invitational this weekend.

Warning was second in the discus and hammer throw and eighth in the shot put.

In all, 18 athletes from the men’s squad reached PSAC qualifying marks in their respective events.

Seneca Valley graduate Eric Geddis (3,000 steeple race, 9:44.86) placed fourth and broke the standard by almost 14 seconds while Slippery Rock High graduate Ethan Geisler (110 hurdles, 15.6) placed 13th to qualify by three-tenths of a second.

Women’s TrackCrystal Burnick won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:46.22 and added an eighth-place finish in the 800 (2:21.31) at the Coastal Carolina Invitational Saturday.Both times met the PSAC qualifying standards, the first an NCAA provisional standard.Amanda Seigworth and Allison Smith ran NCAA standards with times of 1:01.37 and 1:01.98, respectively, in the 400 hurdles.Several other SRU women met the PSAC standards in their events including Slippery Rock High graduate Elissa McCune (400 hurdles, 15th, 1:08.29).

Women’s LacrosseCasey Quinn had five goals while Amy Halls and Brittaney Jaillet had three goals apiece and five others netted two goals each as the Rock routed Converse 25-5.SRU (2-0) received goals from 12 different players.
