Helen Brydon

Helen Kathryne Brydon, 80, of Slippery Rock Township died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Grove City Medical Center.

Born in Branchton, April 5, 1930, she was the daughter of John Fredrick Grubb and Kathryne Grubb.

She married Donn Clair Brydon on Dec. 27, 1958, and he died Sept. 27, 2002.

She was a registered nurse and retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

She was an active member of the Branchton United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the ACBL Bridge Club in Butler, Ellwood City and New Castle.

Surviving are a son, Thomas L. Brydon of Slippery Rock, and two sisters-in-law, Darla McPaul of West Sunbury and Lida Anne Grubb of Lexington, Neb. Also surviving are five nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanna; a son, Jonathan; and a brother, Donald Grubb.

<B>BRYDON</B> — Friends of Helen Kathryne Brydon, who died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, will be received at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the Branchton United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Branchton United Methodist Church, 490 Branchton Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
