John Mularchik, 84, of Butler died Sunday evening in the emergency room of the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 5, 1926, in Butler, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Redko) Mularchik.

He retired from the Armco Steel plant in Butler following 42 years.

He was a member of the St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Lyndora, where he was in their men's club. He also belonged to American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora and the Highfield Community Center.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his sister, Anna Mularchik of Butler; a nephew, David Mularchik and his wife, Beverly, of Cleveland, Ohio; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Crawford) Mularchik, who he married Nov. 27, 1952, and who died Jan. 13, 2008; and his brother, Paul Mularchik Jr.

<B>Mularchik </B>— Friends of John Mularchik, who died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 201 Penn Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Joseph Wargo, pastor, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in North Side Cemetery, Butler.Panachida services will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
