LEECHBURG — A youth leader with a Loyal Order of Moose lodge is charged with endangering the welfare of children for allegedly smoking marijuana with high school students, and allowing them to smoke, during a return trip from a scholarship program.

Chuck Pascal, the attorney for 31-year-old Frederick Ulmer III, says the charges are “completely false” and says Ulmer didn’t know there was marijuana present and certainly didn’t smoke it with the students on Nov. 20.

A newspaper in Tarentum first reported the charges Monday, which state police filed by summons March 3. Ulmer lives in Leechburg where he’s youth awareness chairman and community service chairman with the local Moose lodge.
