WEXFORD — Butler graduate Maria Baroffio, a senior guard on the St. Vincent College women's basketball team, earned a spot on the Presidents' Athletic Conference second team.

Baroffio is averaging 13.1 points for the Bearcats, who will play Thomas More (Ohio) the No. 1 ranked team in Division III, Saturday in the PAC Tournament championship game.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University center fielder Matt Howard was named Division II Atlantic Regional Player of the Week.Howard had a .500 batting average with three home runs, a triple and 11 RBI in his team's four-game sweep last weekend in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Community College, 70-57 in the Region XX quarterfinals Friday.Casey Fleeger had 15 points and Rachel Doutt 15 rebounds for the Pioneers, who were scheduled to face Lorain (Ohio) Community College in the semifinals Saturday.
