John D. Mackalica, Sr.
In loving memory of our beloved John D. Mackalica, Sr. who passed away 2 years ago today.
Two long and hard years have passed since the day we had to say goodbye to you.
Words cannot express the immeasurable pain in our hearts. Life is not the same, our family is not the same. Although you are not physically here, we know you are beside us each day, forever in our hearts, always on our minds.
Your name is spoken throughout each day and there are constant reminders of you everywhere, for me. When I pick a lemon from our tree you planted so many years ago, take a walk to our dock that you always loved to sit and fish on, or think of the many stories you would tell us or your silly jokes.
I loved your laugh and cry when I hear Bob Seger.
I so miss you Dad! I just want to pick up the phone and call you as I am sure we all do.
You gave us so much unconditionally. You were the rock and balance and I am forever grateful for that.
We are so lucky to have the best father and mother in the whole world. Stay strong sisters, brother, grandchildren and family. We were taught by the best and can move forward and pass on Dad's goodness.
Love Jodi
As we the family read this it is brought to mind our own memories, as we each have separate memories as well as shared ones.
Time doesn't totally take away the pain but it does allow us to remember without the horrible stab to the heart and we are all grateful for the gift of years and memories we were given.
