GLENSHAW — Crews this morning are finishing up repairs on a water main break that flooded a main road and sent water into the homes of basements.

About 2 million gallons of water are believed to have flooded Saxonburg Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in Shaler Township, just east of Pittsburgh.

Several homes and businesses lost water service because of the break, which was expected to be repaired sometime later this morning.

The water main broke Sunday night, sending water down the road at the rate of 12,000 gallons per minute. The water made its way in the basements of some homes.
