The Associated Artists of Butler County will host an Oscar Party at 8 p.m. Feb. 27 at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St. Black tie is preferred.

Hors d'oeuvres will be catered by Marie Hudack and Maria Stephenson of Dolce Maria's. A cash wine bar will be available.

Tickets are $50 per person, and seating is limited so tickets must be purchased by Saturday and will be limited to the first 150 tickets sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event is a fundraiser to benefit The Art Center and its Kids Art Program.

The “Gothic Show” will close with a fundraiser featuring a showing of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.The film will be shadowed-played by local performers known as The Unconventional Conventionalists led by Damien Bottles.Admission is $5. SLIPPERY ROCK — Shari Maurer, author of “Change of Heart,” will be at the Slippery Rock Borough Building at 7 p.m. Monday for the monthly meeting of the Slippery Rock Community Library Friends.Maurer will start the meeting as the guest speaker, with a short business meeting to follow. She plans to give a short overview of her book and then take questions.“Change of Heart” is about a 16-year-old girl who develops congestive heart failure and ultimately receives a heart transplant.This young adult novel deals with the issues that would concern a transplant patient plus it looks at the different ways a heart can be broken and repaired, with the ups and downs of love and life.
