Hay storage building burns in Cherry Twp.
CHERRY TWP — Firefighters on Sunday night prevented a fire in a small wooden structure from spreading to a garage at 107 Rock Hill Lane.
Assistant Chief Ron Steele of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company said this morning the structure, which was about 4 feet by 8 feet, was a total loss.
He said the resident used the attachment to store hay.
Steele said the garage’s walls are made of concrete blocks, but the roof is wooden.
About 20 firefighters responded to the 9:47 p.m. call. The Marion Township and West Sunbury volunteer fire departments assisted Slippery Rock.
Crews cleared the scene at 10:58 p.m.
