Rock rally tops Clarion

The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team used a 26-4 second-half run to defeat host Clarion, 79-71 Saturday night.

With 5:29 remaining in the first half, The Rock trailed 31-12.

Maron Brown paced SRU (16-6, 6-2) with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Devin Taylor added 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Jon Valeriano and Jabril Bailey both contributed 14 points in the win.

Slippery Rock received a double-double from Danielle Smith (13 points and 12 rebounds), but The Rock fell to Clarion 52-45.Smith, who fouled out of the game late in the second half, added four steals and Sherita Stanley chipped in 13 points.SRU (3-17, 1-7) hosts Lock Haven Wednesday.
