Mars will be featured Friday on the website www.msnbc.com on its travel page.

Joy Jernigan, travel editor, said Pennsylvania writer Chris Rodell visited and wrote about the town in southwestern Butler County.

“He liked that the town embraced its otherworldly identity with gusto with the spaceship and the signs,” Jerrigan said.

Rodell interviewed town officials and residents, giving an idea of what there is do in the Mars area.

Jerrigan said the report was done because Mars is relevant this weekend “because Chris said there are a lot of Steelers fans there.”
