?Waiting,? a painting by Eileen Stroup of Butler, lends color to the ?Cold Winter, Hot Jazz? exhibit continuing through Feb. 25 at The Art Center.

Winners of the Associated Artists of Butler County exhibit “Cold Winter, Hot Jazz” have been announced.

Best in Show was awarded to Claire “Vimala” Anderson of Summit for her “Dillinger: End of an Era.”

Honorable mentions went to Mary Kay Richardson for her painting “The Sounds of Jazz” and to Rosemary Hogan for her collage “Idyllic.”

The exhibit continues through Feb. 25 at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

Also continuing are the exhibit “Desert Song,” an installation of artwork and photography of the Sonoran Desert by Anderson, a second solo exhibit of the work of nationally recognized artist Judith Carducci, and the work of local artist Eileen Stroup, who specializes in murals and pet portraits.

In addition to the artwork, an authentic sequined flapper dress from the 1920s is on display, along with photographs from the era of the woman who wore it.

The next art exhibit at The Art Center will be “Make It Green,” featuring artwork with predominantly green colors; lost/found articles turned into art; art related to “greening the environment” as in recycling/re-use; or art created with salvaged or natural materials.Entries for this show are due on or before 4 p.m. Feb. 26.
