ALIQUIPPA — One person is reported dead this morning in a fire at an apartment building for elderly and low-income residents.

Beaver County 911 dispatchers say the coroner is on the scene at the Towne Towers apartment building in Aliquippa.

The fire was reported shortly after 5:30 a.m. today. Officials say the fire was confined to a single unit on the fourth floor of the five-story building. A website that describes the property says it contains 60 studio and one-bedroom apartments.

A call to the management office was not immediately returned.

There are no other immediate reports of injuries.
