Hiking, cross country skiing and ice fishing are on the agenda for Moraine and McConnells Mill state parks.
A beauty of winter guided Hike is slated for 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 12 departing from McConnells Mills State Park's Kildoo Picnic Area. A park naturalist will guide a moderate hike through icy scenery. The hike is weather dependent so call 724-368-3612 to confirm.
At Moraine State Park, a cross country ski clinic is planned for 1 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4. Meet at the Pleasant Valley Beach West on the South Shore of Lake Arthur. A limited number of skis will be available to try out.
Also, a family ice fishing program is slated for 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 25 at Moraine's Region 2 Office, 195 Park Road, Prospect. Reservations are required by e-mailing chfoster@state.pa.us or calling 814-683-5126.
PITTSBURGH — Shady Side Academy's Hillman Performing Arts Series continues with the improv comedy troupe The Second City at 7 p.m. Feb. 19.Audience suggestion and participation steer the song-and-dance humor.
