PITTSBURGH — A sheriff’s sale has been postponed until next month on the home of a man accused of killing three Pittsburgh police officers.

Richard Poplawski is charged in the April 2009 shooting deaths of three officers at the home in Pittsburgh’s Stanton Heights neighborhood where he lived with his mother, Margaret.

The J.P. Morgan Chase Bank wants to recover nearly $60,000 it is owed by Poplawski’s mother. A sheriff’s sale set for Monday has been delayed until Feb. 7 at the bank’s request.

Margaret Poplawski has sued Allegheny County because the home was damaged in the shootout with police. She alleges authorities are responsible because a 911 operator she called about her son sent police to the home without warning them he had weapons.
