I am old fashioned. Living with a boyfriend and having children while not being married just to collect welfare, WIC, free babysitting and all the other doles, is just downright wrong. Wrong from every angle. In my day, a girl who got pregnant in high school was basically shunned. Today, it is an everyday occurance. Society has changed and not for the better. We have, as a culture, accepted these changes. There is no shame in society these days. I posted before about people going shopping in pajamas and I was called on it, but I stand by my position. We need to teach our kids to be proud. What ever happened about worrying about what the neighbors think? That isn't such a bad idea after all. Maybe the solution is to print the names of the people collecting welfare in the newspaper. Would that shame them? Probably not..

Kathy, That makes sense because my health care spending accunt comes with a debit card that automatically deducts from my account. I can just put all my purchases on one receipt, use my healthcare debit card first. It will only pay for the band aids, asprin, etc. It will not pay for everything I purchased. That technology is readily available, so it should be attached to the food stamp cards.

Unless, of course, the person at the register overrides it, or keys it in manually. That would be deliberate theft and should be prosecutable.

So Joe, forget calling the manager. Call the Attorney General and skip the middle man. Businesses like that need to be used as examples!
