Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528 near the intersection of routes 8 and 173, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Call 724-794-6011 to confirm programs.

Bartramian Audubon Society will have the Butler County Christmas Bird Count on Saturday within a 15-mile diameter of count circle, which is about 1.5 miles east of the junction of Lindey Road and Route 528 near Slippery Rock. Call 330-759-1945 or e-mail sarbird@hotmail.com. On Jan. 2, the Pleasantville Christmas Bird County will encompass an area within a 15-mile diameter of the count center in Pit Hole.
