Frankly, I think no income tax for anyone making less than $500,000/year. Sales taxes are the way to go. The ONLY thing exempt would be food - that way, poor people could still survive. Sales taxes of 25% would probably be enough. THink about it. Rich people buy expensive things, they will pay more, poor people don't buy as much, they will pay less. Millions of people cheat on their income taxes and get paid under the table, illegal aliens, people here on vacation, everyone pays, everyone buys things. Everything has to be taxed, including purchases made on the internet. Couple that will no corporation is allowed to operate in this country unless they pay taxes on the money they make in this country. No offshore businesses not paying anything. What do you think of that? It would never fly though because rich people make the rules and they like their tax shelters and deductions.
