Robert Morris out of FCS playoffs
FARGO, N.D. — Brock Jensen threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as North Dakota State beat Robert Morris 43-17 Saturday night in the first round of the FCS playoffs.
D.J. McNorton ran 27 times for 110 yards and a TD and caught two passes for 110 yards and a score for the Bison (8-4), who play at Montana State next Saturday.
North Dakota State outscored the Colonials 37-10 in the second half.
“We’ve always played well in the second half,” Bison coach Craig Bohl said. “A lot of it is discipline and conditioning.”
Robert Morris (8-3), making its first appearance in the FCS playoffs, opened the game with a methodical 69-yard drive capped by Myles Russ’ 5-yard run with 9:41 left in the first quarter. Russ finished the game with 117 yards on 27 carries and scored the Colonials’ other touchdown in the third quarter.
