FORWARD TWP — Volunteer firefighters are trying to get a woman out of her pickup truck after she lost control of it while passing a car on Route 68, near the Buhl Bridge, crashed through a guard rail and ended up stuck in a tree, according to rescuers. Except for the tree, the vehicle would have tumbled down an embankment and into a creek.

Firefighters have extended a ladder from a ladder truck and draped a line from it that has a rescue basket attached to it.

The woman has been in the vehicle in the tree since about 8:40 a.m.
