JACKSON TWP — The wall above a fireplace at a Ramsey Road house caught fire early Saturday, causing $5,000 damage.

The family of Robert Broad at 141 Ramsey Road was awakened to the sound of the glass in a framed picture above the fire place falling and breaking because of the fire.

The family was able to alert the fire company at 2:35 a.m. and get out of the house.

Chief Tim Sapienza of the Harmony Volunteer Fire Company said firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

He said the family had made a fire in the fireplace on Friday.
