The Seneca Valley girls volleyball team lost to Hempfield (District 3) by a score of 3-0 Saturday in the PIAA Class AAA semifinals at Central York High School.
The Raiders (24-5) were defeated by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-23.
Hempfield, the District 3 champion, went on to beat Upper Merion 3-0 in the state championship.

JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley senior golfer Paige Wojdyla is continuing her academic and golf careers at Saint Francis University.Wojdyla was the Raiders' girls golf team MVP for the past three seasons and lettered four years. She won the 2010 Tri-State Section PGA Junior Tournament Series and was awarded Player of the Year.Carrying a 4.0 grade point average, Wojdyla was given the President's Education Award in 2009 and 2010. She plans to study business with a pre-law concentration and eventually enter law school.

Butler County Community College's men's basketball team dropped a pair of games over the weekend.Jamestown-Olean defeated the Pioneers 87-63 despite 21 points and nine rebounds from Antawane Davis and 18 points from Jordan Taylor.Davis had 18 points and nine rebounds while Taylor had 10 points and 10 assists in an 86-54 loss to Jamestown Community College.The Pioneers (0-4) play West Virginia Northern Tuesday.
