Slippery Rock University women’s cross country runners Jen Harpp and Crystal Burnick placed third and 11th, respectively, to lead The Rock to a third-place team finish at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday in Cary, N.C.

Harpp’s finish of 21 minutes, 44.7 seconds on the 6,000-meter course was good enough to earn her all-Region honors and a spot in the upcoming national championships.

Burnick also received all-Region honors with a finish of 22:51.3.

• In the men’s 10,000-meter event, SRU placed fourth as a team, led by Brian Ulrich (26th, 33:00.4) and Jason Leonard (27th, 33:01.1).
