Humbug! 'Scrooge in Concert' is holiday treat at SRU
SLIPPERY ROCK — Audiences know the Charles Dickens story of Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley and Tiny Tim and yet return each holiday season to enjoy the tale one more time.
Slippery Rock Universitys Performing Arts Series brings the story to the stage with “Scrooge in Concert.” The musical with a cast of singers, dancers and musicians will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in SRU’s Miller Auditorium.
This family friendly version is a spirited remake of the story by the New York state Originals, a New York-based theater company.
Dickens’ story tells of Scrooge’s miserly ways which are changed by his visions of Christmas past, present and future.
New York state Originals is a theatrical production company dedicated to creating new and innovative live theater for all audiences. The company also has produced education workshops in the performing arts.
Tickets to the performance are $22 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and youth younger than 17, and $8 for SRU students. Call 724-738-2018.
