How about an end to "earmarks" from congress. Might only be a billion here and billion there but pretty soon it adds up to real money. How about rolling back federal spending to the 2007 level. Or better yet, cut across the board 10% a year for the nest 2 years. After all, if we have to do that with our household budget the federal government should also do the same. Live within your means. Some programs could probably be cut more than 10% and still be very effective or more effective. The days of the "blank check" are over.
The "bridge to nowhere" never got built in Alaska. It was canceled, even though a road to the bridge was built. The road stops at the point where the bridge was to begin.
And yes, the president should have attended the G20 meetings. But was it necessary to take a 10 day family vacation at the cost to taxpayers of $37 million a day??? There's living large and then there is LIVING LARGE.
