SWISSVALE — A priest who pastored a suburban Pittsburgh parish for 16 years has resigned over accusations that he took money from the church.

Roman Catholic Bishop David Zubik isn’t specifying the amount of money missing from Word of God parish in Swissvale.

The Rev. Francis Drabiska’s resignation was announced in a news release and a letter from the bishop that was read at Masses over the weekend.

Drabiska has been priest since 1976.
