Artwork by Jocelyn Beatty and her students is exhibited through Nov. 27 at the Blue Heron Gallery in Volant. The opening reception is Saturday.

VOLANT — The Blue Heron Art Gallery is presenting its November show, "A Splash of Color," a collection of paintings, through Nov. 27 at the gallery at 600 Main St.

An opening reception is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday with refreshments.

Students of Beatty are showing their watercolors ranging from landscapes to portraits to still life subjects.

Beatty has one piece in the exhibit and it has been featured on a magazine cover, also shown in the exhibit.

Beatty has taught at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, and Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in New Castle.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
