Bands will rock Underground Gallery

The Underground Gallery at The Art Center will celebrate Friday as Guy Fawkes Day, also known as the British Halloween, with performances by several bands.

In England, Nov. 5 is marked as the anniversary of Fawkes' attempt to blow up the king and members of Parliament in 1605. The effort failed.

On Friday, the Underground will host the final band evening for The Art of Horror V exhibit. The bands playing will be Sick Twisted Debauchery, S.T.D. and Once Mighty Giants.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the bands starting at 7 p.m. Cover is $5.

Winners of the Art of Horror V awards are:

• James Clayton Grace, first place for "A Taste of Tyranny,"

• Aryl Bashline, second place for "Face in Ice,"

• Kayla Aymar, third place for "Nightmare,"

• Honorable mentions went to Bill Hohman for "Killer Sock Puppet" and "Happy Pumpkin Day" and to Jessica Smith for "The Goat."
