Alfonso

William J. "Buddy" Alfonso, 68, of 812 Harmony Fisher Ave., Franklin Township, Beaver County, passed away unexpectedly at 7:49 a.m. Thursday at the Ellwood City Hospital Emergency Room.

Buddy was born July 12, 1942, in Ellwood City, to the late Guy R. Alfonso and Elizabeth Gush Alfonso.

He graduated from Zelienople High School in 1960.

Buddy served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from Jan. 6, 1964, until Aug. 12, 1965, with the rank of private first class.

Also, Buddy worked as a project manager for 30 years in the steel industry. He retired in 2007 after eight years with Kvaerner Metals in Pittsburgh.

Buddy was a Christian.

A motorcycle enthusiast, he was member of the Harley Owners Group for many years. He loved his family and helping others any way he could.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Scott Catalano and Renee and Rodger Radevski, all of Franklin Township, Beaver County; six grandchildren, Dimitri, Mia and Gianna Radevski, and Lauren, Noah and Alexandria Catalano; his life partner, Mary Roschie; one nephew, Kirk Alfonso of New Brighton; one niece Cassandra Alfonso of New Mexico; his former wife, Lorraine Trembach Alfonso; and his good friend, Chris Bokor of Ellport.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by one brother, Emil "Amey" Alfonso, and a sister-in-law, Sandy Alfonso.

"Buddy" Alfonso, who died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the <B>Samuel Teolis Funeral Home</B>, 309 Spring Ave., Ellwood City. Services will be Monday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with family pastor Bob Zonts officiating.
