Sharon L. Cooper

Sharon L. Cooper, 66, of Knightdale, N.C., formerly of West Freedom, near Parker, passed away Tuesday in Raleigh, N.C., of natural causes.

Born in Clarion County, May 29, 1944, he was a son of the late Lawrence "Scoop" and Nellie Fox Cooper.

He graduated from Allegheny-Clarion School in 1963.

Following graduation, he was employed at the Knox Glass Corp. in Parker until the plant closed in 1980. He moved to North Carolina to become a painter until ill health forced his retirement.

He became an avid golfer and NASCAR fan in retirement.

Surviving are his wife, J.P. Mogensen Cooper, who he married June 27, 2003; two sons, Gregory (Tammy) Cooper and Gary A. Cooper, all of Parker; two daughters, Sonja (Scotty) Strickland of Bailey, N.C. and Jesse Mogensen at home; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Brittany, Madison and Cody Cooper and Corey and Mandy Strickland; two brothers, Ellis (Doris) Cooper of Chicora and Owen (Carolyn) Cooper of Odenton, Md.; two nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in December 1969 and a brother, Robert A. Cooper, in December 2009.

<B>COOPER </B>— Visitation for Sharon L. Cooper, who died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Parker. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the William M.
